Caribbean Broadband Deal

Cuba and Venezuela reached further agreements on a plan to lay a new undersea cable to connect the countries and provide broadband Internet access to Cuba, Jamaica, Haiti, and Trinidad.  The project is scheduled for completion by 2010 and will be deployed by CVG Telecom (Corporacion Venezolana de Guyana) and ETC (Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Cuba).
